Round table in the framework of the Smart City Expo. With Arnau Monterde, director of Democratic Innovation at Barcelona City Council, Laura Dornheim, Councilor and Digital Director (CDO) at Munich City Council and Paula Grzegorzewska, Director of Strategic Alliances at OpenForum Europe, a think tank in Brussels where they work on digital policy issues such as open source software, standardization, cloud computing and AI.
Technological developments are advancing at an ever-increasing pace, and there is a growing inability to generate the regulatory frameworks needed to lead the public development of technology for democracy. Can we imagine new models based on free, open source software and communities that put democratic issues and citizens' rights at the center? At the table, various experiences of the European Union, Germany and Barcelona in the development of public code will be presented.
